Streamline POS with faster modifier selection
Preview: Not available on playground to preview prior to release
Target release date: 27 August
Never miss a modifier again with ROLLER’s quick and intuitive way to add stock products and their associated modifiers to the cart, at POS. Faster and more accurate ordering at POS means more efficient operations and a better experience for your guests.
When a guest comes up to the counter to order food and beverages, POS will guide your staff through the process with a series of prompts.
- They select the chosen stock item.
- Then, a new modifiers screen will display with a clear list of all modifiers a guest can choose to customize their order. Staff simply select each modifier to add them to the order.
- If a guest has any specific requests, staff can add notes to the order too, which are clearly displayed in the POS cart and on production dockets.
You can enable this new purchase flow from Venue Manager. Go to Apps > Point of Sale > Settings and then select the checkbox for Enable modifiers workflow.

Store bookings at POS with parked bookings
Preview: Not available on playground to preview prior to release
Target release date: Gradual rollout
If a guest needs to step out of your entry queue, to sign a waiver, for example, there’s no way for staff to save their draft booking at POS without payment. This means that when the guest signs their waiver and re-enters the queue, staff have to re-enter all their information again. Staff lose time re-entering the same information and guests have a longer wait time.
With the new Park booking feature, staff can save bookings at POS and can view them from the new Parked tab. It’s great for draft bookings because you can put the booking aside, serve other customers and easily pick it up again when your guest is ready to pay. Staff no longer have to lose their progress on a booking and can seamlessly pick up where they left off. You can also use Park to keep important bookings at hand, such as parties, throughout the day. No more searching through the system — simply park the booking once and access it when you need.
After midnight sessions easier to book online
Preview: From 20 August in ROLLER Playground
Target release date: 27 August
If your venue stays open late, you may have struggled to sell sessions that run past midnight — even when you’re open until the very early morning. This not only frustrates your guests but also takes a bite out of your late-night revenue.
With our new after-midnight feature, sell those late-night sessions with ease. Sessions that start after midnight will now appear as part of the previous day’s late night session times in checkouts, so your guests won’t get tripped up by confusing date toggles. That means more seamless bookings for them and more revenue for you during those past midnight hours.
To create sessions that run past midnight, follow these steps.
Enable after-midnight sessions in the progressive checkout advanced settings:
- From Venue Manager, go to Progressive checkouts > Settings > Advanced.
- Select the option to display early next-day sessions under the current day's date in online checkouts.
- Set the end time for these sessions (eg 2 AM).
Next, schedule the midnight sessions by creating schedules with customized sessions.
- From Venue Manager go to Products > Schedules and select the product you want.
- Remove conflicting days or dates from any existing schedules:
- Select the existing schedule.
- Deselect any conflicting days/dates for the actual day/dates you want to customize (eg Friday for sessions up until midnight, Saturday for very early morning sessions).
- Save your changes.
- Create the very early morning sessions (after midnight) for the actual day/date:
- Select Create schedule for the actual day/date of the early morning sessions (eg Saturday, 12 AM to 2 AM).
- Deselect all days except for the actual day/dates you need (eg Saturday for Saturday's early hours). This resolves any scheduling conflicts.
- Select the options menu (3 dots) at the top right, then Customize sessions.
- Set the First session start time and the Last session start time (eg 12:00 AM and 1:30 AM).
- Select the session intervals (eg every 30 MINS).
- Select Add sessions. All sessions are listed in the schedule.
- Make sure you select Allow sessions outside of operating hours.
- These sessions will show up on the previous day as Late-night sessions.
- Add sessions for any other sessions on the same day.
-
Save the schedule.
- Create customized sessions to midnight on the previous day:
- If you want sessions to extend to midnight on the previous day (eg Friday), create another schedule with customized sessions for that day.
- Again, make sure to select Allow sessions outside of operating hours.
- Finalize and check:
- Make sure the product is added to your online checkout.
- Preview the setup to see how it appears for guests.

More flexible party package pricing in checkouts
Preview: From 20 August in ROLLER Playground
Target release date: 27 August
We’ve enhanced the party package setup to provide flexible pricing options. Choose between per-guest pricing (with minimum guest requirements) or per-party pricing (with included guests) for each variation to suit your business needs and guest expectations.
The selected option is applied consistently across the checkout process, ensuring clear pricing that prevents misunderstandings. This clarity makes the booking process smoother and more intuitive for your guests, leading to fewer inquiries, no surprises at checkout, and more online party bookings.
To switch to per party package pricing:
- From Venue Manager, go to Products > All products.
- Select the party package to update.
- Expand a variation under Party package details.
- Select Per party package.
- Update pricing, quantities and descriptions as needed.
- Save and check the guest view in checkout. Repeat for other variations as needed.

Simplify ticket redemption with itemized digital wallet passes
Preview: From 20 August in ROLLER Playground
Target release date: 27 August
Configuring digital wallet passes and memberships speeds up the ticket redemption process at your venue, reducing wait times at entry points and improving the overall guest experience.
By default, when guests add memberships and passes to their digital wallets, all passes in the booking sit under one barcode (memberships will be separate). For example, if a guest makes a booking and purchases 2 passes for tomorrow, and they add that booking to their digital wallet, they’ll only see one ticket in their digital wallet for both passes, with one barcode to scan at your venue.
But now, you have the option to configure individual digital wallet tickets for each pass in a guests’ booking.
- From Venue Manager, go to Apps > Progressive checkouts > Settings and select the Add to wallet tab.
- Then, select the checkbox for Itemized digital tickets.
This means that for the example above, two digital wallet tickets will be created, each with a separate barcode that can be scanned separately.

Other news
But wait, there's more! Cloud printing is more accessible as we’re adding a new supported printer to the list, you can now validate waivers on the mobile check-in app and send waiver requests from POS. Speaking of POS, the enhancements just keep coming because you can now configure a new compact view and enable fast card payments too. Finally, we’re introducing an option to set a minimum ticket requirement at the product level for session passes.
Cloud printing enhancement
ROLLER now supports EPSON TM-M30III printers for cloud printing. These printers are built to support both retail and hospitality environments. Due to the compact design it’s a good choice for venues with limited counter space.
Waiver validation on MCI
Checking guests into your venue just got easier! Search for waivers to tickets, all within the Mobile Check-In (MCI) app. The check-in process is smooth and delay-free, as staff no longer need to go to POS to find and attach waivers.
POS compact view
Enable a compact view for POS. This option reduces POS tile size, displaying more products on the screen. Ideal for restaurants and cafes, it speeds up order processing by making more items accessible at once. Venues can configure this during device and template setup.
Send waiver requests from POS
Have guests at POS who need to sign waivers? No need to head into Venue Manager, simply select Send waiver request on their booking at POS to send a waiver to their phone, ready to sign. It’s just that easy!
Fast card payments at POS
Does your venue mostly deal in card transactions? Enable fast card payments in your POS device settings to have a Fast card button ready to go. With it, you can process card payments in one click instead of three.
When you enable fast card payments, the Fast card button appears directly on the booking screen, so you can process a card payment for the whole amount right there and get your guests on their way.
Product-level ticket minimums for session passes
Currently, you can only set minimums for each ticket type—such as adult or child tickets—when creating a session pass. This setup can be confusing for guests booking group activities like escape rooms, where they often need a mix of ticket types.
Now, we're introducing a feature that allows you to set a minimum ticket requirement at the product level for session passes. Guests can now mix ticket types to meet a single minimum, simplifying the booking process, filling more session spaces and boosting revenue while enhancing the guest experience.
