Create your product categories

This article shows you how to create and manage product categories. They are an important step when setting up your venue initially. 

Product categories are used to group similar products together. They allow you to:

• Group your products on the progressive checkout products page and fetch new products. 
• Quickly find what you're looking for when creating new bookings in Venue Manager.
• Search & filter for products & bookings using the daily capacity, calendar and run sheet views in Venue Manager

Create a new product category

From Venue Manager, go to Products > Categories:

1. Select Create category
2. The category panel appears
3. Enter the category name
4. Search for and select the products for the category
5. Select Save

Add a new product to an existing category

From Venue Manager, go to Products > Categories:

1. Select the existing category you want to add a new product to
2. The category panel appears
3. Search for and add the product
4. Select Save

Remove a product from an existing category

From Venue Manager, go to Products > Categories:

1. Select the exiting category you want to delete a product from
2. The category panel appears
3. Select the trash can icon next to a product to remove the category
4. Select Save

Delete a product

From Venue Manager, go to Products > Categories:

1. Select the options menu (3 dots) for the category you want to delete
2. Select Delete from the drop-down
3. Select Save
