This article shows you the different types of information you can see on the ROLLER Payments performance dashboard and how to use this data to manage payments.
Access the ROLLER Payments dashboard
From Venue Manager, go to Dashboard > Payments to access your ROLLER Payments dashboard. Alternatively, you can access it from Reports > All reports > ROLLER Payments Performance.
Use the date filter at the top of the page for the time period you want to report on.
Current funds
See the current balances of your accounts. The values you can see are:
- Pending settlement
- The total funds processed that are yet to be credited to your ROLLER Payments account.
- Ready for payout
- The total balance of funds in your ROLLER Payments account available for payout.
- Last payout
- The value of the most recent payout initiated from your ROLLER Payments account to your nominated bank account.
How do I use these metrics?
- Use Pending settlement and Ready for payout to see how much total funds received have been processed and are due to be paid out to you.
- Use Last payout to know exactly how much your next bank deposit will be for and when to expect it in your bank account. This is typically within 0 to 2 business days after the payout has been initiated.
Funding
The funding bar chart visualizes the value of your funds processed that have been paid out to your nominated bank account, broken down by day. This allows you to see at a glance what proportion of your total funds received have been paid out and what proportion is still pending payout.
How do I use these metrics?
- See a quick visual summary of net funds processed on each day to see which days you're transacting the most.
- Know when a day has been fully funded and paid out or when you're still expecting funds to be paid out.
Key metrics
Monitor the total value of your authorized and refunded transactions for the period. Upward or downward trends compared to the previous period also give you insights into how common refunds and chargebacks are compared to the last period. The metrics you can see are:
- Authorized
- The total value of authorized transactions for the period.
- Refunded
- The total value of refunded transactions for the period.
- Net funds received
- This period's authorised transaction total, minus any refunded transactions.
- Chargeback rate
- This is the number of chargebacks divided by the number of authorised transactions for the period. A small number is indicative of a healthy business.
When you hover over each metric, you'll be able to see specific details from the previous period, such as transaction amounts and chargeback percentages. This includes the difference between the current and previous period for each metric.
Channels
This panel shows you a breakdown of your transaction by the channel through which they were processed.
The ATV (average transaction value) shows you the average amount your guests spent during the filtered period.
The donut chart visualizes the authorized amount per channel as a portion of the total authorized amount. The table then shows a further breakdown including:
- Auth. Count
- The total number of authorized transactions per channel.
- Auth. Amount
- The total value of authorized transactions per channel.
- ATV
- The average transaction value of authorized transactions per channel.
How do I use these metrics?
- Stay informed of your guest preferred purchasing behavior to enable you to more effectively target your marketing campaigns or upsell products.
- See spending trends over time to track how effective your marketing campaigns and upsell pushes are.
Payment methods
This panel gives you insight into how your payment methods are being used and how they are performing.
The Auth. rate (authorization rate) is percentage of transaction attempts that result in a successfully authorized payment.
The donut chart visualizes the authorization rate per payment method as a portion of the total authorized amount. The table then shows a further breakdown including:
- Auth. Count
- The total number of authorized transactions per channel.
- Auth. Amount
- The total value of authorized transactions per channel.
- Auth. Rate
- The percentage of transaction attempts which result in a successfully authorized payment.
How do I use these metrics?
- Popular payment methods
- See which payment methods are most popular with your guests and which are not so popular. Offering your guests a variety of payment methods means they're more likely to be able to pay how they want. However, keep in mind that too many payment methods can be overwhelming.
- Payment method performance
- Track how each payment method is performing in terms of authorization rate. Note that some payment methods naturally have a lower authorization rate due to the purchase flow. For example, payment methods that redirect the guest to an app or third-party page mean that there are more stages where the guest might drop-off.
- If you have a payment method with a low Auth Count and a low Auth Rate, you should consider disabling that payment method to avoid guests having a poor purchasing experience.
Chargebacks
This panel lists all chargebacks received during the filtered time period as well as the reason, amount, defence deadline and current status (eg Unresponded, Defended, Won, Lost).
