Follow the steps below to get started with the Mobile Check-in app.
Check your requirements
Before getting started, you must check that you meet all the requirements to use the Mobile Check-in app.
Create your Mobile Check-in device profiles in Venue Manager
Assuming you have the right subscription, hardware and software, log in to ROLLER Venue Manager and create your Mobile Check-in device profiles.
You can then open the Mobile Check-in app on your Urovo device and log in using a staff account with the necessary permissions.
Make sure you have the right role
The following system roles can log in to the app:
- Administrator
- Manager
Alternatively, any custom role with the following role permission enabled to have access:
- Can Administer POS
You can learn more about staff roles here.
The Mobile Check-in app does not currently support POS pin logins (only email & password).
Allocate and deallocate your devices
After logging in to the app on your Urovo device for the first time, you’re presented with the device allocation screen.
This screen populates any mobile check-in devices that have been created in Venue Manager.
To allocate a mobile check-in device profile created in Venue Manager:
- From the mobile check-in app on your Urovo device, go to the Device menu and click the blue refresh button at the top right to make sure the latest available devices have been synced.
- Tap an available device:
- If a device has already been allocated, it appears in this list, but is grayed out with the name of the current user.
- If a device is available, the name is displayed in black.
- If there are no available devices or the device you want is already allocated to another device or user, go to Venue Manager and either:
- Create a new device
- Deallocate an existing device to make it available again (see how to deallocate a device below).
- Once actioned, go back to the Device menu in the mobile check-in app and click the refresh button.
- The device profile should now be available. Tap to select it.
To deallocate a mobile check-in device profile:
- From Venue Manager, go to Apps > Mobile Check-in
- From the list of devices, find the device you want to deallocate and click the options menu (3 dots).
- Select Deallocate.
- The device is now deallocated.
- From the mobile check-in app on your Urovo device, dlick the refresh icon from the Device menu to update.
Sync bookings
The Mobile Check-in app syncs all valid tickets locally to the Urovo device to reduce network dependency. This helps to mitigate any temporary network outages that may occur.
The app automatically syncs every 15-30 seconds. It also automatically syncs whenever a search is made for a ticket and returns no local results.
If tickets are not synced this is because:
- They are not valid.
- They have been purchased in the last 15 seconds.
The app automatically syncs all tickets that are valid for today; however you can also manually sync tickets that are valid for future dates by navigating to the Device menu and selecting the date range you want to sync for.
