Create a quantity-based price rule
There are two main steps to creating a quantity-based price rule.
- First, set the price rule, including the quantity tiers—specific ticket ranges that trigger different prices—and how tickets are counted to qualify for each tier.
- Then, apply the rule to the session or standard pass in the product settings and set the prices for each ticket type at each quantity tier.
First, set up a quantity-based price rule
First, set up the price rule by defining the quantity tiers and deciding how ticket purchases count toward reaching each tier.
- From Venue Manager, go to Products > Price rules > Create price rules.
- Enter a name for the price rule.
- Decide how different ticket types are counted towards a quantity tier:
- Any product variation: This option combines all ticket types (eg adult and child tickets) to qualify for a lower-priced quantity tier.

A specific product variation: This option counts each ticket type separately, meaning adult and child tickets qualify individually for a lower-priced quantity tier, without combining their total count.
- Create the quantity tiers and enter the number of tickets that guests much purchase to qualify for each tier.
- By default, there are two quantity tiers:
- The first tier applies to regular pricing, where you can set the number of tickets available at this price (eg 1-2 tickets).
- The "Max" tier allows guests to purchase tickets up to the session’s full capacity at the adjusted price (eg 3 to maximum number of tickets available).
- You'll set the adjusted prices for each ticket type and tier in the product's settings.
- To add more tiers, select Add quantity tier and enter the ticket range for each (eg 1-2 tickets, 3-5 tickets, 6-Max, etc).
- By default, there are two quantity tiers:

Next, apply the price rule to a product and set the prices per tier
Quantity-based price rules can be used with session or standard pass products only.
Once you've created the price rule, apply it to a product in its settings, then enter the price per ticket for each quantity tier.
- From Venue Manager, go to Products > All products.
- Search for and select the session pass or standard pass product you want to apply the price rule to.
- In the Session pass details section, go to How do you want to price your variations? and choose the quantity-based price rule from the drop-down menu. This makes sure that the price adjusts based on the number of tickets purchased according to the price rule.
- For each ticket variation within the product, set the prices for each quantity tier. When guests add the set number of tickets that qualify for the adjusted price, the price per ticket automatically updates.
Edit and delete price rules
- Once a price rule is applied to a product, you can only update its name.
- You can edit or delete a price rule as long as it hasn’t been applied to any products. To make changes, first remove the rule from all products it's linked to.
- You can edit the prices for each quantity tier in a product's settings at any time. These will only apply to new guest purchases.
To see which products have a price rule applied in Venue Manager:
- From Venue Manager, go to Products > Price rules.
- A list of all price rules and the products which each rule is applied appears.

Edit bookings with price rules
Guests can edit their bookings with price rules applied through their online accounts, and staff can do the same in Venue Manager or at POS.
The prices automatically adjust according to the price rule configuration and prices entered for each ticket type and tier in its settings.

Here’s an example of a price rule where any product variation (ticket type) counts toward the total, with two quantity tiers: 1 to 3 tickets, 4 to max tickets (up to each product's resource capacity).
Applied to a session pass product
Here’s an example of the above quantity-based price rule applied to a session pass product: regular prices are set for each ticket type in the 1 to 3 ticket tier, with lower prices applied for each ticket type in the 4+ ticket tier.
Minimum purchase enabled
The product is configured with a minimum purchase requirement of two tickets, regardless of the ticket type. This ensures that every booking includes at least two tickets, as in this example, a single booking has exclusive use of the room (single-booking resource).
Guest purchase online
Here’s how the adjusted lower prices appear to guests when purchasing 2 adult tickets, 2 child tickets and 1 over 60s ticket (a total of 5 tickets combined) in the online checkout. This qualifies each ticket type for the 4+ quantity tier pricing.
Example 2: Buy more tickets of one type and save
Here’s an example price rule with a specific product variation (ticket type) enabled, which counts only purchases of the same ticket towards a quantity tier's lower price for that ticket.
This approach can help you target specific guest segments with lower pricing (eg more kids, potentially resulting in more family members attending).

Similarly, they would need to buy 3 or more child tickets to receive the lower price for child tickets. This encourages the guest to purchase more tickets of one type and save.
