Deferred revenue report – Help Center

This report provides insights into the money that has been collected but isn't yet considered earned revenue. It's listed as a liability because it reflects income that will only be realized when you actually provide the goods or services. In the context of ROLLER, this typically occurs when guests attend your venue and redeem their tickets.

Access the report

The permission Can access Analytics is required to view dashboards and reports. Administrator and manager system roles have this permission enabled by default.

From Venue Manager, go to Analytics > Reports.
Search for and select Deferred revenue.

Interpret the visualization

The report presents a donut chart and a detailed list that breaks down the total deferred revenue by product type.
The total deferred revenue as of the selected date is prominently displayed in the center of the donut chart.
Each segment of the chart represents a different product type, with corresponding revenue amounts listed alongside.

Make it a habit to regularly review this report to keep track of the advanced payments you have received for various products. This will help you effectively manage your cash flow.

Filter the report

The default timeframe shows the sum of all deferred revenue accumulated as of 1 day ago.The report allows you to apply filters to change this timeframe.

Select Filters at the top left of the report page to view and adjust filters.
Review and understand the default filters currently applied.
Modify the filters using drop-down menus, calendars and numerical input fields.
Remove any filter values by selecting the X to the right of the selected value.
Select Run to update the report with the new filters.

Filter adjustments are temporary, only visible to you, and revert to default when the report is reopened.

Options

Record Date

The record date is the date the deferred revenue record was created in ROLLER.
You can adjust the default to show results for a specific date range, such as the past quarter or a custom range, by selecting "is before" and choosing "relative" and a specific number of days, weeks, or months ago.
Absolute date filters pinpoint specific dates for results. Relative date filters generate results up until today's date.

What exactly is deferred revenue?

It's money you've received for services or products you haven't provided yet. It comes from advance payments for bookings and tickets that guests haven't yet redeemed at POS, or have not yet expired (eg due to non-attendance). It helps you see how much unearned revenue you're accumulating, which is important for understanding your future cash flow and planning.
