Any hospitality worker will be familiar with the challenges of using paper dockets to manage food and beverage orders — duplicate dockets, missing dockets, printer jams and manual prioritization are all par for the course.
Until now! With ROLLER’s Fresh KDS integration, use kitchen displays to streamline communication between front-of-house staff and your kitchen without the need for paper and printers. Display and prioritize orders in real-time, leading to faster service and improved guest experience.
This guide will walk through how to integrate and configure your Fresh KDS devices in Venue Manager, so orders from POS and mobile food & beverage checkouts can go directly to a screen in your kitchen.
What is KDS?
KDS stands for Kitchen Display System and is an alternative to printing out production dockets using paper and printers.
When guests make an order from POS or through the mobile food & beverage checkout, the order details get sent to a screen in your kitchen (rather than a printer that prints a physical docket to your kitchen).
Who can use KDS?
Any venue with food and beverage operations can take advantage of this integration and configure their KDS devices in ROLLER. You can then connect your POS devices to the KDS devices in your kitchen.
If you’re also using ROLLER’s mobile food & beverage ordering feature, you can connect these checkouts with KDS as well.
Requirements and hardware
ROLLER integrates with Fresh KDS, so you can send food & beverage orders to a screen in your kitchen when guests make a purchase at POS or from the mobile food & beverage checkout.
To connect your Fresh KDS devices with ROLLER, you must first have a Fresh KDS account. To learn more, visit the Fresh KDS website and review their plans and pricing to see which is the best fit for your venue.
