This article outlines the hardware compatibility and minimum performance requirements of ROLLER applications.
Internet requirements
Internet connectivity is critical to the performance of ROLLER applications. A reliable, high-speed connection will ensure you achieve optimal performance.
ROLLER recommends that you:
- Install a primary DSL or cable connection with a minimum download and upload speed greater than 20 MB per second
- Purchase a back-up wireless internet dongle or device for emergencies where your primary internet connection is disrupted
WiFi versus cabled connections
We recommend that network cabling is installed and all devices are connected to a local area network via network switches in order to connect them to the internet.
However if WiFi is implemented to connect devices to the internet, a commercial-grade Wi-Fi system should be installed. Home routers and WiFi access points are not suitable for business data volumes.
Testing internet performance
- Navigate to www.speedtest.net on the device you wish to test
- Click Go or Start to commence the test
- Compare the results to the above minimum download and upload speeds.
Browser compatibility
ROLLER apps are browser-based applications designed, built and tested to work on Google Chrome.
ROLLER strongly recommends using Google Chrome for best performance and reliability.
