Till sessions are a convenient and effective cash management tool, that allows you to track the actions of your staff (POS operators in ROLLER) for a period and to record any cash variance.
This guide walks through the process of handling till sessions, including opening, closing and editing closed till sessions.
Till sessions overview
A till session is started from the POS device, and can be closed from that POS device or via Venue Manager. When you close a till session, you'll be prompted to enter the cash total for the till session in order to calculate the cash variance.
During the session, you can record the addition or removal of cash via the Cash In/Out function. Closed till sessions can be edited at a later date from POS or Venue Manager.

In order to perform till session functions you, or another staff member, requires the following permissions:
- Can cash in/out POS till is required to open or close a till session and to perform cash in/out
- Can edit reconciled till session is required to edit a reconciled past till session.
These permissions are enabled for administrator and manager system roles. By creating a custom role, you can enable these permissions for other staff members.
