After creating a booking in Venue Manager, you can easily send a waiver request via SMS/text or email directly from the booking. The waiver request includes a booking-specific waiver link, allowing guests to promptly sign their waivers. This process helps make sure that waivers are signed before arrival, speeding up entry queues and improving overall efficiency.
This guide will walk you through the steps to send waiver requests to guests.
Send a waiver request from the booking
After creating a booking in Venue Manager, you can seed a text/SMS or email from the booking's confirmation page. You'll need the booking holder contact details.
- From the guest booking in Venue Manager, select Send waiver request at the top of the page.
- Choose to send the request by SMS/text or Email. (Additional fees per SMS apply.)
- Confirm the booking holder’s name, email address or phone number, pre-populated from the booking holder's details. You can edit these details.
- If you're sending the request by email, you can also choose to include a list of guests who have already signed waivers in the email.
This option is useful for party, event or group bookings as it can make it easier for booking holders to follow up with those who haven't signed a waiver.
- Select Send.
What do guests receive?
Email requests
- Guests receive an email with a booking-specific waiver link.
- The email can list guests who have already signed their waivers if this option is selected when sending the email (see section above).
From Venue Manager, you can view, and if on a Pro plan, customize the waiver request email template:
- From Venue Manager, go to Settings > Design > Email templates.
- Scroll down to select and open the Waiver request email template.

SMS/text requests
- Guests receive a text message with the booking-specific waiver link.
- Guests are prompted to sign the waiver online and can share the link with other guests to make sure all waivers are completed before the event.
- Changing the message for the Text/SMS is not possible.
Track waiver requests and signed waivers
You can also check if staff have sent a waiver request and any waivers signed connected to the booking from Venue Manager.
- Every waiver request sent is logged in the booking’s activity stream, allowing staff to verify if a request has been sent.
- To view a list of signed waivers, from the booking, go to the Documents tab.
- Any waivers signed using the waiver's unique booking link and the booking holder’s email address are listed here.
Send a waiver request email to guests without bookings
At times you may want to send a waiver request email when no booking exists. This may be to help organize a large event before a booking is made or when waivers have expired.
To send a new waiver request, follow these steps:
- From Venue Manager, go to Guests > Waiver holders.
- Select Send waiver request in the top right.
- Enter the recipient’s name and email address in the pop-up window.
- Select Send when complete.
To send a waiver request to an existing guest, follow these steps:
- From Venue Manager, go to Guests > Waiver holders.
- Search for an existing waiver holder by name or filter by date signed or waiver status (Active, Expired, Deactivated).
- For the waiver holder you want, select the options menu (3 dots), then select Send new waiver request.
- Contact details are automatically populated with the guest’s details.
- Select Send.
Send a waiver link to a group of guests from an exported list
You can export filtered waiver information from Venue Manager, including guest name, email address and phone number. You can use this data to send a waiver request to a group of guests, such as those with expired waivers, using a third-party email or marketing program.
Export the waiver holders list:
- From Venue Manager, go to Guests > Waiver holders.
- Apply the filters for the waivers you want to export (eg Expired only).
- Select the options menu (3 dots) in the top right.
- Select Export to download a CSV list of waiver holders.
Obtain the waiver link:
From the same options menu (3 dots) in the top right, select Get waivers email to copy your venue's waiver link.
Send the email:
Use a third-party marketing tool to send the email.
- Import the CSV list of waiver holders into the tool.
- Compose the email and paste the copied waiver link.
- Send the email to the group of guests.
