ROLLER POS supports selling through multiple point-of-sale (POS) devices at your venue. To start selling in person at your venue, you need to create a POS device in ROLLER for each physical POS device in your venue. The number of devices you can connect with ROLLER depends on your plan.
This guide shows you how to create a new POS device using a template, a new standalone POS device or a new POS template in Venue Manager.

Create your POS devices
You can create POS devices using templates or you can create standalone, individual POS devices. You can also apply a template to an existing, individual POS device and create a new template from a device.
To get started:
- From Venue Manager, go to Venue Manager > Apps > Point of Sale.
- Click Create a device at the top of the page.
- Then, select the device type:
Select this device type to create a new device using an existing template with the same POS menus.
Select the existing template you want from the template dropdown.
Then customize the new device settings:
- Enter a unique device name (eg Reception 1, Cafe 1).
- Enter a starting till float (optional).
- Set the device screen size.
- Allow mass ticket redemption (optional).
- Set a minimum quantity to allow mass redemption of tickets within a booking.
- Enabling this setting bypasses waiver allocation at redemption.
- The POS menus are the same as the selected template's menus.
If you edit a menu, the device unlinks from the template selected. Any future changes to the template menus won't be reflected in the device. - Click Save.
Select this device type to create a new, individual device with custom menus that are not synced to any template or other devices. Once set up you can also create a new template from this device.
Then set up the device settings and custom POS menus:
- Enter a unique device name (eg Reception 1, Cafe 1).
- Enter a starting till float (optional).
- Set the device screen size.
- Allow mass ticket redemption (optional).
- Set a minimum quantity to enable the mass redemption of tickets within a booking.
- Enabling this setting bypasses waiver allocation at redemption.
- Click Add menu.
- Enter in the Menu name (eg Day tickets) and select an icon to help distinguish your menu.
- Click Add products.
- Use the search bar to type in the name(s) of your products and select any that you want to add. Click Apply. Learn more about creating and editing your POS menus.
- Repeat steps 5 to 8 for any other menus you wish to add to this POS device.
- Click Save.
Edit your POS devices
If you want to edit the menus for POS devices which are linked to a template, edit the template:
- From Venue Manager, go to Apps > Point of Sale > Templates.
- Click the options menu (3 dots) for the template or device and select Edit.
- Click Unlock to edit in the top-right corner of the page.
- Make the changes you want to the menus of the linked devices. See how in Create and edit POS menus.
- Click Save once done.
If want to make changes to an individual POS device, edit the POS device:
- From Venue Manager go to Apps > Point of Sale > Devices.
- Click the options menu (3 dots) for the template or device and select Edit.
- Edit the device settings.
- Select a menu to edit.
- Click Unlock to edit menus.
- Make the changes you want to the menus. See how in Create and edit POS menus.
- Click Save once done.
Before you edit a menu for a POS device linked to a template, you are asked to confirm that you want to edit the device and unlink it from its template, and if not, you're directed to edit the template itself.
Apply a template to an existing device
You can apply (or re-apply) a template to an existing device. This updates all menus in the device with those in the template.
- From Venue Manager, go to Apps > Point of Sale > Devices.
- Select the options menu (3 dots) for the device.
- Select Apply template.
- Select the template.
- Click Apply.
- Confirm that you want to update all menus in the device with those in the template.
The device is now linked to the template.
Create a template from an existing device
You can create a template from an existing device.
- From Venue Manager, go to Apps > Point of Sale > Devices.
- Select the options menu (3 dots) for the device.
- Select Create template from device.
- The device is turned into a template.
- Click Save.
